The journey began when David Atkinson, our founder, was confronted with his own health challenges. Relying on popular smartwear devices, David quickly realised that while these gadgets were useful for general wellness tracking, they fell short in providing the comprehensive data needed for serious clinical use. Frustrated by their limitations, David was driven to develop something better—a superior health monitoring device that could truly make a difference for people like him and for healthcare professionals.
Undeterred by the complexities, David dedicated countless hours to creating a device that not only monitored health with clinical precision but also delivered actionable insights for healthcare providers. This wasn’t just about innovation; it was about bridging a critical gap that David had experienced firsthand. After extensive research and development, David succeeded in bringing his vision to life, leading to the creation of Prymexa.
Founding Prymexa, originally known as iView Health, was no small feat. The early stages were marked by challenges, with many doubting whether a self-funded startup could survive in such a competitive industry. However, David’s resolve never wavered. He personally funded the company, ensuring it remained debt-free and fully operational, driven by his mission to create a transformative health monitoring system.

Headquartered in Hereford, with plans to expand into Swansea and Cardiff this year, we are on a rapid growth trajectory.
